Account Deletion - Building Lore

Important: Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. All your uploaded building photos, analyses, and saved stories will be permanently removed from our servers.

How to Request Account Deletion

Send Deletion Request

Email us at support@buildinglores.com with the subject line "Delete My Account" from the email address associated with your Building Lore account.

Verify Your Identity

For security purposes, we'll verify your identity by confirming your email address and account details. You may be asked to provide additional verification if needed.

Account Deletion Processing

Your account and data will be deleted within 30 days of your verified request. You'll receive a confirmation email once the deletion is complete.

What Data Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:

User Account	Deleted	Email, password, authentication credentials
User Profile	Deleted	Display name, preferences, settings
Building Photos	Deleted	All uploaded images and cropped versions
Building Analyses	Deleted	AI-generated stories, building information, saved analyses
Upload History	Deleted	Metadata about your uploads and requests
Local App Data	User-Controlled	You can clear this by uninstalling the app
Subscription Records	Retained	Required by law for financial records (RevenueCat)
Anonymized Analytics	Retained	Aggregate usage data without personal identifiers

Data Retention Period

Deletion Timeline

Immediate: Account marked for deletion, login disabled
Within 30 days: All personal data permanently deleted from active systems
Up to 90 days: Data may remain in encrypted backups for disaster recovery, then automatically purged

Legal Retention

Some data must be retained for legal and regulatory compliance:

Subscription/Payment Records: Kept for 7 years (tax and accounting requirements)
Fraud Prevention Records: Kept if account was flagged for abuse or violation of terms

What Happens to Your Subscription

If you have an active premium subscription:

Your subscription will be canceled immediately upon account deletion
No refunds will be issued for remaining subscription time
You should cancel your subscription through the App Store or Google Play before deleting your account if you want to avoid charges
Subscription records are retained by RevenueCat for legal compliance but are not linked to personal data

Account deletion is permanent and irreversible
All your building discoveries and stories will be lost
You cannot recover your data after deletion is completed
Consider exporting any important data before requesting deletion
